Rumor: Investigation finds that student did not bring weapon to school

This morning we were made aware of a rumor that a specific student had brought a gun to La Porte Junior High School. The administration and La Porte Police Department immediately investigated the situation thoroughly and have found that this was indeed just a rumor. Please know that the safety and well-being of all of our students and staff are always our top priority, and we will always take any information about a threat very seriously. If you have questions or particular concerns, please contact your school principal.

There are many different ways that parents, grandparents and family members are needed at La Porte Elementary. If you are planning on attending a party, helping with Water Day, chaperoning a Field Trip or helping at the school, you will need to have a background check on file. We can't do this without you, so please click this link to get started. Background checks do take time to process so please ensure you allow 5-7 business days for it to be completed. You will need to submit a new background check every year. Thank you your time and willingness to support the teachers and students at LPE.

District celebrates Alumni, Citizen Class of 2019 during Oct. 18 ceremony

La Porte Independent School District on October 18 honored four inductees during the Second Annual Distinguished Alumni & Distinguished Citizens ceremony and luncheon. The district honored Sonja Angelo, Britton Phillips, and the late Martha Love as its 2019 Distinguished Alumni class. Charlie Perry was recognized as the 2019 Distinguished Citizen.
